You may have noticed your windows or doors becoming stiff or not opening or closing correctly during period of extreme weather; especially in hot weather PVCu has been known to expand by up to 2.5cm, which is quite a lot.

This is not usually a cause for concern and your windows and doors are not going to break. This process is a perfectly natural occurrence and when the temperature drops and the sun sets your windows and doors will retract and return to the normal size.

You can cool down your PVCu with a cold damp cloth or alternatively spraying the outside with a hose or spray bottle, doing so will help the PVCu shrink back to size and operate more freely.
